Dorothea Blog Entry |
September 29, 2023, 1:10:14 AM 9/29/23: r/SketchDaily theme, "Folktale Week: Journey." Kinda hard to figure out how to illustrate the hero's journey. The mystical tree just showed up...I dunno. ... This week's character from my anthro WWII storyline is Dorothea (no last name ever given). A minor character, she's a maid who works in General Schavitz's castle and helps out Rosina Kestler. There'll be more about her later in my art Tumblr and Toyhou.se. (There's already some about her in Kestler's entry from January 6.) Regarding her design, I was going to give her two braids (she's described that way in Kestler's entry) but forgot, oh well. TUMBLR EDIT: I go into a decent amount of detail about Dorothea (that's pronounced Doh-roh-TAY-uh--the unvoiced TH is pronounced like a T, J like a Y, etc. in German names--Theodor Schulte, for example, is TAY-oh-dohr SHOOL-tuh, Gunter Hesse is GOON-tah HESS-uh, Ludolf Jäger is LOO-dolf YAY-gah, etc.), no last name ever given, in Rosina Kestler's entry. In fact, Kestler's entry is just about as much Dorothea's as her own, so there isn't much for me to add here. Dorothea is a relatively minor character who only really figures in Kestler's sidestory (granted, as the vague middle of the story is developed, she could develop more, too), so I haven't spent much time brainstorming her yet. For now, Kestler's page is a good place to start, and maybe more will develop about her later. [Dorothea 2023 [Friday, September 29, 2023, 1:10:14 AM]] |
