Childhood Writing |
I have a huge store of older written material, most of it shorter or unfinished, which I'm still in the process of typing up to post to the Web. A large portion of this material consists of the numerous incomplete novels in my various series, in particular the D Is For Damien storyline, which as of last count had over twenty proposed books in the series (only three of which have been completed). I also include here my King Kuts-related work which, although it could technically fall into either the "Kemet" or D4D storylines, was written so long ago (predating both storylines) that it better stands on its own with my other childhood writing. (One exception to this is the single chapter I wrote for an attempted KK revamp, which is included under Miscellaneous Fiction, not Childhood Writing, seeing as it was written after 2000.)
Much of the work here, even that from my college years, is really lousy by my current standards, and yes, I'm terribly embarrassed to let some of it see the light of day. However, I believe it can be useful not only to see how I've improved, but to keep in mind where I've come from--many of these stories I still believe have potential, if I could only find the time to rework them. You'll know these stories when you see them, by just how much of them was written before work was halted. There are also many silly "fluff items" to be found among the more serious material. Seeing as there's so much to be found here, I've tried to break it up a bit to make it easier to find related works, though some stories may fall into more than one category. There is a LOT more to come to this page, so keep checking back. ![]() Twenty-first in the D Is For Damien series, part of the Minot spinoff series. ![]() Silly list of rules. ![]() Original version of the second novel in the series. ![]() Excerpt from the novel. ![]() Another excerpt of the novel. ![]() Fifth in the series. ![]() Eighth in the series. ![]() Eleventh in the D Is For Damien series. ![]() Eighteenth in the D Is For Damien series, part of the Minot spinoff series. ![]() Goofy sericomic story. ![]() Much akin to the above. ![]() Aborted attempt at a character interview. ![]() Character profile. ![]() Original version of the first novel in the D Is For Damien series. ![]() Really, really, REALLY lame college-life story. ![]() Excerpt from the fifth novel in the D Is For Damien series. ![]() Another excerpt from the fifth novel in the series. ![]() Yet another excerpt from the novel. ![]() Holy God how many excerpts are there?? ![]() Lame attempt at college humor. ![]() High-school play making fun of the mentally ill!
