Trivia

*Silver and Reseda were intended to be the protagonists of a sort of sidestory (more accurately, an extended adult version excerpt) of the 2002 reboot, entitled "Tough Love." I just looked in my files and located the existing text (actually predating the reboot, from at latest 2001), over 8000 words counting the author's note. Amusingly, it features several Trench Rats I completely forgot I created: Manila, Peacock, Taupe, Gamboge, and Crocus. Dang! As well, Vischer has a butler named Franz, who no longer exists in the story as far as I'm aware. Dietrich Brenner--in his original, rodent version--is referred to, as a former friend of Vischer's (hm, too bad I can no longer develop this part of the story). And Reseda tells Vischer that he's from...Indiana? How weirdly random, yet I have yet to decide if it's still canon or not. I do not remember writing any of this, WTF. Anyway, "Tough Love" was also put on hiatus; given my current writing style, it would likely just be included in the main story, with the more NC-17 details omitted. (To clarify, adult scenes featuring these two exist, just not within the text of "Tough Love," which never got over PG-13 before work on it ceased.)

*Along with Indigo, he expresses displeasure toward being passed over for promotion when Alpha Squad is incorporated into the Trench Rats. Indigo is mollified by being assigned a position in the medical ward, while Silver holds a grudge throughout the entire story; he relents only when Gold, having since taken Black's place as sergeant, promotes him to corporal, catching him by surprise.

*His sexual orientation is complicated. Essentially, he's straight--all of his previous relationships and physical attractions have been with women. Reseda Rat is the lone exception, and as Silver awkwardly tries to explain, even after they've been together, he's still not remotely interested in or attracted to men--he's only interested in Reseda. There's simply no other way to adequately describe it.

*Teal Rat never betrays the Trench Rats to the Nazis, though after extensive torture he does end up betraying Silver; ironically, Silver, surprised to come across him, had intended to scrap his original mission and liberate Teal, so Teal effectively sabotages his own rescue. He feels such intense guilt over this that, following his actual rescue, he kills Dr. Kammler and then himself, though not before asking Burgundy to offer Silver his apology.

*He's essentially immortal, as he's given the Ultima Thule serum. Presumably, the only way he can die is by suicide (most likely a gunshot or blow to the head).
