Sapphire is of average height; with a slim body type; has light blue eyes; and has light blue-gray and dark blue-gray fur.
Sapphire dresses in the standard Trench Rat attire of a modified Pickelhaube and Prussian-style uniform, sapphire (blue) cape, and armband with private first class's stripe. He speaks English with a slight German accent. He often has a vaguely worried/anxious expression and has a habit of snapping his fingers when trying to recall information. Trivia
*Sapphire is the only Trench Rat who was born in Germany. Although he obtains American citizenship (with aid from Revell), he's largely distrusted by his fellow Rats, which turns out to be justified, though for the wrong reason.
*He's one of two spies recruited by Revell to infiltrate the Trench Rats. The other spy, whose identity Sapphire does not know, is Black Rat--though unlike Sapphire, Black is actually working as a double agent for DeVries.
