Mahogany has longer, silkier, and slightly wavier fur than most rats. He dresses in the standard Trench Rat attire of a modified Pickelhaube and Prussian-style uniform, mahogany cape, and armband with lance corporal's stripe. He initially comes across as short tempered, asocial, overly blunt, self-absorbed, and unconcerned with others' feelings, when the reality is he's just very bad at reading social cues and feels deeply ashamed of hurting or offending others; once he understands and corrects his mistakes and warms to people, he comes across as sensitive, well meaning, and eager to help.
