Appearance

Herr Jäger is of tall height; with a stocky, moderately muscular body type; has blue eyes (he is leucistic, not albino); and has white fur and a light blond mustache.

Herr Jäger, like everyone else in his family, is of perfectly Aryan appearance and breeding. He's leucistic, not albino, so has white fur yet blue eyes. He has a mustache. He wears dark, well-tailored three-piece suits, a hat when out in public, and a pocket watch on a chain. Although big and imposing in appearance, he's generally quite mild tempered and easy to get along with. He has a warm, soft spoken, kind demeanor.

Family & Relationships

Frau Jäger (Wife)
Frau Jäger is Herr Jäger's opposite in many ways--nervous and easily distressed whereas he's a rock, piously Christian whereas he's a lackluster heathen--yet he loves her dearly, and is the only one besides Ludolf who can calm her frequently frayed nerves. Herr Jäger converts to Christianity so that he can marry her. She's often left behind at home while he's away on business, something he finds to be a sad necessity; they always make up for lost time when he returns, as evidenced by their many children. Although he himself was raised as a pagan, he plays no part in teaching Ludolf these ways; he's a lukewarm Christian at best, but seems to honor his wife's choices for their children's faith.

Oma Jäger (Mother)
AKA "Granny" Jäger (to the Jäger children), Herr Jäger's mother. She intended her son to carry on practicing the old heathen faith but he gave it up to marry Frau Jäger; although Oma accepts this and even moves in with his family, she's not pleased about the break with tradition. Herr Jäger occasionally has to mediate between his mother and his wife as tension is high between the two. Despite his closeness to her, he rebukes Oma for the bargain she makes with Frau Jäger to raise his son in the old ways, indicating that while he's generally indulgent with his family, there is a line.

Opa Jäger (Deceased Father)
"Grandpa" Jäger (to the Jäger children), Oma's husband, who died when Herr Jäger was relatively young. He practiced the same heathen ways as Herr Jäger's mother, though it was Oma who raised Herr Jäger in this tradition. There's speculation that the two wed to ensure the continuation of the ancient Jäger line. Their marriage, despite possibly being arranged, was a deeply loving one, and Oma never remarried or stopped wearing mourning black following her husband's death. Herr Jäger doesn't remember Opa very well, though he was a decent father.

Unnamed Jäger (Daughter)
The six Jäger daughters, Ludolf's older sisters. Herr Jäger loves them all and lavishes them with gifts every time he returns from a business trip, though he longs for a male heir to carry on the family name. He plays little role in raising them as he's frequently away, leaving this to his wife and mother.

Ludolf Jäger
The lone surviving Jäger son (originally named Luitpold, he's then assigned his deceased older twin's name), and sole carrier of the family name. Herr Jäger is thrilled when he's born, but also dismayed to learn of the death of the true heir--the older twin--as well as his mother's possibly supernatural role in saving Ludolf's life; even though Frau Jäger is the one who requested her help, Herr Jäger privately rebukes her for the bargain. Despite Ludolf being his heir, the two of them are rather distant toward each other. He plays no role in raising Ludolf in the old heathen ways, and indeed has little to do with raising him, period, as he's often away, although Ludolf is his greatest pride and he has high hopes for him...which is why Ludolf's decision to join the Waffen-SS and fight on the front weighs on him so heavily. He never gets to meet Ludolf's wife or his grandchildren.
