He's of tall height; with a fit/athletic body type; has blue eyes; and has liver and white patched/ticked fur and brown hair. Delbrück has a scar on his left cheek following his duel with Gunter Hesse. He wears the traditional black SS-Totenkopfverbände uniform (with the Totenkopf rather than the SS collar tab) and SS-Degen (dress sword) while in the office or at work and sometimes a gray SS uniform when in the field; he often wears his peaked cap crushed style/sans stiffener. [NOTE that his current portrait shows him with the stiffener in his cap.] He wears a plain cap and greatcoat over his uniform when visiting Frau Bitterlich's brothel. After assuming the identity "Bruno Lehmbruck," he gets rid of his SS uniform and wears more general clothing such as an unmarked greatcoat and cap. He often has a sour, unapproachable facial expression. Family & Relationships Mirjam Zweifel (Mistress/Lover/Partner) [Coming soon.] Gabriele Zweifel (Informal Adopted Daughter) [Coming soon.] History [Coming soon.] Delbrück In Heaven [Coming soon.] Trivia *Delbrück is an antinatalist--he morally disagrees with the idea of bringing children into the world, believing it's not worth the pain and suffering. This viewpoint is in direct contradiction with the SS's emphasis on having large families with many children; this, in combination with Delbrück's tolerant demeanor toward Jews (he befriends Isaak Schindel, and has a relationship with Mirjam Zweifel, during the war alone), calls into question why he joined the SS in the first place. He has no real answer to offer when Mirjam asks. *Also in conflict with his opinion regarding having children, he briefly participates in Lebensborn, and likely fathers a few children he never meets. As he later on tells Reinhardt and Azinger, he quit Lebensborn because it "got weird." *He's quite passive-aggressive, and frequently resists orders in such a subtle manner, or makes himself so annoying (including with insulting pranks), that his superiors aren't even aware they're letting him have his way. *Similarly, he comes across as unmotivated, doing the bare minimum to put in effort and never going out of his way to get things done. This gives him the appearance of being lazy and apathetic, which may not be entirely untrue, though his perpetually gloomy, pessimistic attitude hints at possible underlying depression. *He has masochistic tendencies (the reason he first visits Frau Bitterlich's brothel), though, given that he eventually loses interest in this as his feelings for Mirjam develop, it's unlikely that he's a true masochist; rather, he seems to use this as an outlet for his shame and guilt regarding his duties in the camp. *He's a bit of a chainsmoker, though this lets up somewhat after the war. *[Coming soon.] Click to view/download various sizes (Flickr) ![]() ![]() |
