Appearance
Else is a Pomeranian with pricked ears and long fur. She's of short height; with a plump body type; has dark blue eyes; and has white fur and blond hair.
Else has a rather frumpy, homely appearance although her face is pretty enough, if a bit haggard. She's short and rather chubby. She wears her long straight hair in a loose braid and wears plain, traditional dresses and shoes, and a large coat when she goes out. She wears no makeup and no jewelry but her wedding ring, partly due to tradition, partly due to poverty. She has a meek, timid, yet hardworking demeanor, is dutiful and obedient to authority, and tries hard to keep others pacified and to stay out of trouble. She feels ill at ease being independent, preferring a husband to take care of the important decisions while she cares for the house and children; for this reason, she's never cultivated any friendships or social connections. She's often drawn in on herself and keeps her head down when addressing others in public.
Family & Relationships
Heinz Abetz (Husband)
Else's first husband, and the Dannecker children's biological father, is a working-class, low-ranking soldier and member of the Nazi Party who is killed early on in combat on the Eastern Front. From what little has been revealed of him, his and Else's marriage is more one of convenience than one based on love, though Else does miss and mourn him. He's rather strict and unaffectionate toward Else, and distant and mostly uninvolved with his children, so none of them are very close to him. Along with their four surviving children, he and Else have a stillborn child and several miscarriages. Partly because of Abetz's uninvolved nature, when Ernst Dannecker arrives he very easily wins over the family with his feigned kindness. (Appears in backstory/side story only.)

Trivia
*As the genetically pure and fit mother of four children, Else qualifies for the Cross of Honor of the German Mother, Third Class (bronze); it's uncertain whether she's taken advantage of this privilege or not.
