February 21, 2021, 8:52:17 PM 2/21/21: r/SketchDaily theme, "The Dark Arts." Hey, this isn't TOO far off theme! 😳 This guy is called Mishosha and he practices the dark arts. He appears in my WIP serial Escape From Manitou Island and is a wabano, a type of medicine man who uses fire and can turn into a bear (also known as a Makwamosa, or Bearwalker). He's...not a very nice guy. His eyes are glowing blue because he's trying to become a manitou, a kind of spirit being whose eyes, in my stories, glow bright blue. (This hints to the other characters that his powers are much stronger than they're used to dealing with in humans.) His feathers should be longer but I had only so much space. And his tattoos are conjectural since I'm not sure what he should have...maybe something related to bears, or fire, or the sunrise. (Wabun is the East, and wabanos are occasionally called Dawn Men or Morning Star Men.) I figured I should try drawing some of my characters from my other storylines. Oddly, Mishosha came out easily.
