January 15, 2021, 11:00:51 PM 1/15/21: r/SketchDaily theme, "Free Draw Friday." Here is Abistanooch, AKA Marten--as in a pine marten--companion of Glooskap and a shapeshifter from Mi'kmaq/Micmac mythology. He appears in my fantasy serials and his real form is that of a small child (though he's actually hundreds of years old) with furry feet, long tail, large round ears, and a little dark nose; his red cap aids him in his shapeshifting. He's very cheerful and enthusiastic, devoted to Glooskap and always willing to help out with magical shortcuts...though said shortcuts often leave much to be desired. He also has an odd tendency to mangle random words (such as calling a tornado a "torned mato") and innocently make ridiculous puns (such as calling a false acorn a "fakecorn"). I'm not 100% sure about his hairstyle here but eh. Here's a much older sketch which I think I kind of prefer, but oh well (bottom sketch).
