January 7, 2022, 2:35:18 AM 1/7/22: r/SketchDaily theme, "Free Draw Friday." Today's character portrait attempt for Free Draw Friday is Danielle Windrow, Det. Max Kristeva's ex-girlfriend from back in his sheriff's deputy days. She's trans (formerly Daniel), something he didn't know when they started dating, and didn't care about after she told him. She's also the first person to break his heart; he had serious thoughts of asking her to marry him, but she moved back to her home state to help out ailing family members before he could. It took quite a while for him to get over this, though he never felt any ill will. (He has a policy of trying to keep on good terms with all his exes since, as he explains it, he has more than enough drama in his life.) I knew Danielle has a short, kind of pixie-style haircut, and I remembered almost too late that whenever I picture her mentally she has glasses as well. I had to look up pixie haircuts and go figure that a WikiHow illustration helped me out here. I don't think I will ever figure out drawing glasses, though.
