August 6, 2021, 5:05:48 AM 8/6/21: r/SketchDaily theme, "Free Draw Friday." Free Draw Friday is character portrait day. I'm rather surprised with how this one turned out since it's pretty close to how I've always pictured him. (Granted, his appearance was based on a character I saw in a movie.) Yes, this is a guy. This is Matthew "Puck" Benteen, who's not a terribly active character (his last major role was in my novel Minot), but I felt compelled to try to draw him because of his unusual hair. He's a member of my character Damien's band. This portrait is actually out of date by now, as at some point in my storyline (actually, background on these characters' lives, not material from intended stories themselves), Puck lops off his longish, curly, dishwater blond hair for a movie role and cuts it short, straightens it, and dyes it dark brown, resulting in a drastic change of appearance. For this reason I'm saving an outline of his portrait if I ever wish to try redoing his hair only, though it might be a while since his current hairstyle is probably like my other guy characters' hair now. 😑 Regarding the hair, c'mon, it was the Nineties.
