STORYLINE HISTORY/INSPIRATION
Sad to say...what little existing text there was of Pharaoh Cat is almost certainly destroyed. :( I long ago dug out of the flooded basement what old stories of mine I could find (some of which, like The Legends Of Manitou Island, I've lost a second time), and I remember that Pharaoh Cat was not one of them. After my dad died, the basement was cleared out...it was in abominable shape, even if the story was still down there it had almost certainly moldered away years ago, but still, I had a tiny hope...but now I have none. Pharaoh Cat is gone.
I believe I wrote up the summary above with a bit much confidence. I can't recall for sure if it was Three Cats & One Dog Night, or Two Cats & One Dog Night, or if the cats in question were Abyssinians or Somalis, or what kind of dog their friend was. I think chihuahua. Ah!--maybe a longhair. And maybe the Somali cat was the main character.
I vaguely remember what little I wrote: Female cat character is lost in the inner city, meets this odd group, they tell her she needs to find Pharaoh Cat, he'll help her. He was on the cover drawing, this rather smug-looking cat in a nemes headdress. He was almost a gangster or crime lord-type character, wise but vaguely threatening, he would help of course but at a price. I think Pharaoh Cat was intended to actually be the bad guy, or at least not as good a guy as expected, similar to Captain Catfood. Three Cats & One Dog Night were going to play major roles, too.
Any information I put up here will by necessity be reconstructed solely from my faulty memory as I have no material left on which to base it...and given how faulty my memory is, you can bet that much info is newly created.
